1st Generation Family-Owned Business

For as long as we can remember, we have loved picking and eating fresh berries.  Our times picking at other farms inspired us to grow a few plants and bushes of our own.  We started off with around 10 blueberry bushes and 100 strawberry plants.  Before long, that grew into 100 blueberry bushes and 1000 strawberry plants.  People started coming to pick our berries and placing orders for berries, in addition to selling at the Winslow farmers market.  Our passion for berries and the desire to have a family run business developed into Bill's Berry Farm.

Bill's Berry Farm is located along beautiful Highway 265 just south of Greenland.  Our farm sits on the Illinois River.  Currently, we have around 3000 strawberry plants, 2300 blueberry bushes and 100 raspberry bushes.  We strive to be completely organic, using no herbicides or pesticides.  Every pump on our farm is run by solar power and the plants are irrigated with rain water.  We are in the process of constructing a geothermal greenhouse, so that we can start growing tropical fruits such as pineapples, mangoes, bananas, oranges, lemons, and more, year round.
